A Irmã Celsa Zucco multiplica a vocação acolhedora da AESC com cada imigrante ou visitante que se dirige à simpática casinha situada na Rua Professor Marcos Martini, 1600 – Bairro Marechal Floriano, onde fica o CAM. o48q
Nascida em Farroupilha, traz em suas raízes a cultura dos imigrantes italianos que povoaram a Serra Gaúcha desde o final do século 19. Criada na localidade de Caravaggio, estudou na Escola Nossa Senhora de Caravaggio, na cidade natal, e no Colégio São Carlos, em Caxias do Sul, antes de rumar para a zona sul do Estado. Lá, na Universidade Católica de Pelotas, cursou Serviço Social, agregando conteúdo para seu desenvolvimento pessoal e profissional. A sede por aprendizado ainda a levou às especializações em Educação Popular, pela Unisinos, e Desenvolvimento Sustentável, pela Ulbra Canoas.
A vocação para dedicar-se à vida confessional vem da juventude. “Sempre convivi e estudei com as Irmãs Missionárias de São Carlos Borromeo Scalabrinianas (MSCS). Decidi ser religiosa Scalabriniana, aos 23 anos, iniciando a carreira como professora”. Irmã Celsa lecionou no Colégio São Carlos e foi diretora e professora da Escola Santa Cruz, na localidade de Nova Milano, em Farroupilha, onde os alunos eram filhos de agricultores e era ofertado até o 5º ano do Ensino Fundamental.
“Minha convivência com aquela comunidade mostrou que havia muitos jovens fora da escola pelo difícil o à educação e por trabalharem na agricultura. Em parceria com a Secretaria Municipal de Educação, abrimos um curso à noite. Oferecemos alfabetização de adultos e a possibilidade de complementarem o Ensino Fundamental. Essa experiência me mostrou o poder da Educação Popular”, relata com carinho.
“Muitos dos jovens agricultores que estudavam à noite e avam a escola a cavalo, hoje são empresários, juízes, advogados, contadores, agricultores bem-sucedidos. Constituíram família. Sempre que me encontram dizem que ‘a Escola Santa Cruz mudou nossa vida’.”
Mais tarde, durante o período da Graduação, trabalhou no Instituto de Menores de Pelotas, sendo pioneira como educadora social. “Era a única mulher educadora. Havia 220 internos. Era responsável pela faixa etária de 17 e 18 anos. Tinha mais de 40 rapazes para acompanhar, na escola, no ensino profissionalizante, preparando-os para saírem da Entidade”, recorda
“Ser mulher junto aos jovens que perderam o vínculo familiar cria laços para sempre”.
Ao concluir o curso de Serviço Social, no ano de 1977, irmã Celsa atravessou a fronteira rumo a Buenos Aires, na Argentina, onde iniciou o trabalho com imigrantes e refugiados no Refúgio Laprida, tema que mobiliza seus esforços e ao qual se dedica diariamente.
“O trabalho com as mulheres e crianças em Buenos Aires me fez conhecer o poder e a força da mulher mesmo dentro de um refúgio numa ditadura militar”
De volta ao Brasil, dedicou-se ao Centro Nossa Senhora da Paz, que até 2018 estava sob gestão da AESC. “Ali conheci a força da comunidade. Quando ela assume suas crianças, se transforma, se potencializa e se empodera”, destaca.
O Hospital Mãe de Deus é outra unidade da AESC que está na trajetória laboral da Irmã Celsa. Entre os anos de 1990 a 2008 desenvolveu trabalhos em Porto Alegre e afirma ter crescido muito durante essa experiência. “Aprendi que o hospital acolhe, educa, cura e transforma a comunidade. Ele é o Sinal, tem a Força da Cura, um misto do conhecimento e do sagrado. Tive vivências maravilhosas com pacientes, familiares, comunidade, funcionários, médicos e voluntários”.
Nos dias de hoje, sua atenção é totalmente voltada ao CAM, onde se sente enviada pela Congregação. “Em nome de cada um – funcionários, voluntários e Irmãs – devo cumprir a missão de acolher, proteger, promover e integrar os imigrantes e refugiados que buscam vida digna para si e para suas famílias. Cada dia é um desafio diferente, mas junto com a equipe, sinto que fomos escolhidos e delegados para sermos presença da Congregação junto aos imigrantes que buscam o CAM”, revela. Esse é o desafio que move e motiva Irmã Celsa ao despertar a cada manhã.
